"Thought and Perception"
Rohmer Gallery presents a two-person exhibition featuring Theresia Zhang and Isabelle Coulet, on view March 6 through April 26.
Zhang’s cinematic, color-saturated paintings reinterpret Western cultural history through what she calls “Reversed Chinoiserie,” viewing the West through a contemporary Chinese lens shaped by migration and exchange. Her staged environments explore distance—between body and city, nature and modern life.
Coulet’s vibrant geometric abstractions, rooted in Hard Edge technique, center on light, contrast, and radiant color. Together, their works propose a dialogue between narrative and structure, vulnerability and clarity, offering distinct yet resonant visions of contemporary painting. 9174988768
