Plant, Pigment, Papers – Erina Schultz Dates: July 27 – 31, 2026 Studio: Silkscreen Tuition: Sliding Scale, $450 – $1300 Lab fee: $150 Class limit: 8 Working with the traditional Japanese process of Katazome-shi, we will be making and printing rice paste resist on paper. The class will explore painting with natural pigments using a soy binder and talk about the difference between earth and plant pigments. Participants will also learn to make their own natural pigments through the process of laking, which is the process of turning a soluble dye into an insoluble pigment. Please note we will be working small to give time to go through the entire process. This workshop takes place in our silkscreen studio located on the second floor, up a flight of stairs.
