Pulp Pigmenting & Blowouts with Jaz Graf

Pulp Pigmenting & Blowouts – Jaz Graf Dates: July 13 – 17, 2026 Studio: Papermaking Tuition: Sliding Scale, $450 – $1300 Lab fee: $150 Class limit: 6 Learn how to mix aqueous pigments with cotton and abaca pulps to customize your handmade paper. Consider the physical, conceptual and optical aspects of color to express your attitude! Ranging from analogous to color clashing schemes, we will generate imagery through stenciling, pulp painting and fluid washes. Break free from the rectangle by creating shaped, deckled edges with blowouts. Juxtapose unexpected combinations of wild color and design to set the mood. All levels. Papermaking is a wet process; participants should be prepared with waterproof or water-safe shoes and clothing. This workshop will involve prolonged periods of standing, often requiring repeated movements in the upper body, and the maneuvering of heavy items. This workshop is currently full. To be added to the waitlist, email info@wsworkshop.org.     Artwork by Jaz Graf Dragonbird Diamond, artist-made paper from Thai mulberry, cotton, linen, abaca and the worn sacred robes of Buddhist bhikkhunis with aqueous pigment by artist Jaz Graf,
