Captured Narratives: Embedded Memories, Ephemera & Scraps – Ashley Page Dates: July 20 – 24, 2026 Studio: Papermaking Tuition: Sliding Scale, $450 – $1300 Lab fee: $150 Class limit: 6 Explore the versatility of collage within the papermaking context! This workshop is a great opportunity to put your collection of loose paper bits, newspaper clippings, poem cutouts, pressed plants, feathers found on the beach, and/or printed photographs to use. After learning how to form base sheets, we’ll begin to embed found, collected and foraged materials within our paper. Attendees will create narratives using image, texture, color and form, while playing the collage techniques. This is a beginner class that has plenty of space for experimenting and intuitive making! No prior papermaking experience is required, and participants will be guided through each step of the process. Papermaking is a wet process; participants should be prepared with waterproof or water-safe shoes and clothing. This workshop will involve prolonged periods of standing, often requiring repeated movements in the upper body, and the maneuvering of heavy items. This workshop is currently full.
